Why look for an Astro alternative?

  • Its site lists only a Mac app, for macOS 14 and later: no web app, and nothing for Windows, Linux or phones.
  • It updates rankings every 24 hours, but only while the Astro app is running.
  • It covers the 91 App Store countries where Apple Ads runs, of 175.
  • Its MCP server is in beta and runs on your Mac, only while Astro is open.
  • It covers the App Store only, not Google Play.
  • It shows no Apple Search Ads advertisers, Meta ads, or download and revenue estimates.

When to stay with Astro

Astro may still suit you if

  • You want a native Mac app.
  • You want your keyword data kept on your own Mac.
  • You organize keywords with notes, tags and folders.

We make Asonix. This page lists the tools we have compared with Asonix feature by feature, and Astro itself.

Every fact about another tool comes from that tool’s own site and docs, on the date in its section. “Not listed” means its site and docs don’t mention it.

The tools are in order of their lowest published price for a year, lowest first. Sensor Tower publishes no prices, so it comes last. Prices are in USD, before tax.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a web version of Astro?

No. Astro’s site lists only a Mac app, for macOS 14 and later. Asonix, MobileAction, Appfigures, AppTweak and Sensor Tower are web apps you open in a browser.

Is there an Astro alternative for Windows?

Yes. Every web app on this page runs in a browser on Windows, and ASO.dev has a Windows app.

Which Astro alternative is cheapest?

Asonix, at $99/year with unlimited apps and keywords. Next is MobileAction’s Lite plan, at $12.50 a month billed yearly, for 5 apps and 100 keywords. Astro costs $108/year.

Is there a free Astro alternative?

Astro’s own free version tracks up to 10 keywords, without popularity or difficulty. Of the alternatives here, Appfigures has a free Starter plan without rank tracking, and Sensor Tower has a free tier with limited access. Asonix has no free plan.

Which Astro alternatives cover Google Play?

MobileAction, Appfigures, AppTweak and Sensor Tower. ASO.dev handles Google Play metadata, releases and reviews, but not keyword research. Astro and Asonix cover the App Store only.

Does any Astro alternative update rankings while my Mac is off?

Yes. Asonix updates every day on its own servers, and the other web apps here also track rankings online. Astro’s docs say it updates every 24 hours while the app is running.

Which Astro alternative has an MCP server my AI agent can reach?

Asonix’s MCP server has 33 tools and runs online for any MCP client. Appfigures’ also runs online. AppTweak, MobileAction and Sensor Tower need an API plan for theirs. ASO.dev’s runs on your computer and, by its docs, leaves out keyword data. Astro’s runs on your Mac while Astro is open.

How do I move my keywords from Astro to Asonix?

In Astro, open the three-dot menu and choose Export Keywords to save your keywords as a CSV file. Then paste them into Add keywords in Asonix, separated by commas. Astro’s rank history stays in Astro. Asonix also finds the keywords your app already ranks for, so you may not need to move every keyword.
